Notice Title

One Stockport Campaign

Notice Description

The Council wishes to commission the creation of a 'One Stockport' campaign that supports Stockport in its recovery from the crisis and one which: 1. Develops local awareness about supporting the Stockport Economy as we come out of Lockdown and into a recovery process and basically encourage all our residents and communities to back local business and 'Shop and Buy Local' 2. Builds on the resilience and support communities have demonstrated so far, to further connect communities and instil a sense of pride in 'One Stockport' 3. Builds levels of positivity and confidence in businesses in Stockport, encouraging businesses and residents to support the recovery of the local economy by promoting the message that Stockport is open for business The following tasks are required as part of the commission: 1. Work with the Council and partners to develop a series of key messages and supporting campaign materials which will evolve over time but which will: o Have a core message of 'buy local' and 'shop local' to all residents as we move through the crisis and businesses start to reopen. o Build on the resilience and support communities have demonstrated so far, to further connect communities and instil a sense of pride in 'One Stockport' o Build levels of positivity and confidence in businesses in Stockport, encouraging businesses and residents to support the recovery of the local economy by promoting the message that Stockport is open for business Key messages may include, but are not limited to: o 'Shop local' and 'buy local' where you can to support our local economy o It is safe to work, do business, shop, eat and drink in Stockport ( obviously linked closely to national and social distancing guidelines) o Keep contributing to our community by maintaining the community spirit that has been created and volunteering your time to provide help and support where needed. o Spend your time and money in Stockport to support the rebuilding of our local economy. o Support local community organisations and local charities o Make sure that you pay suppliers ASAP to support the flow of finance to businesses to maintain and accelerate the recovery. o Maintain the required social distancing measures to keep us all safe and to keep the recovery growing. o Walk, cycle, or use your car where you can so that public transport is available for those who need it. 2. Produce supporting campaign collateral and activities including social media, press, radio, local posters/signs. 3. Identify, research and produce a series of 'spotlights on' or case studies to reinforce the importance and benefits of the One Stockport approach. 4. Develop and manage a wider programme of engagement as part of the campaign, potentially including but not limited to: o Activities to encourage people to spend local in businesses that are reopening
