Lancaster University - Engineering Building 2
Notice Description
The project comprises a stand alone turnkey new build research and teaching engineering building over three stories with a gross floor area of 2983m2. The accommodation is to house the chemical, mechanical and electrical engineering disciplines and is a highly serviced building with some of the accommodation requiring a strict level of vibration control. The building must achieve BREEAM Excellent and an EPC Grade A rating. The University seeks to appoint a Principal Contractor for the works under a single stage procurement route. It is planned that the contractor will mobilise in March 2020 and complete the project by 8th July 2021. Intended tender method: The University is inviting formal Expressions Of Interest (EOI) in the project before running a Closed Tender. The EOI documentation is available on In-Tend (details below) and will include RIBA Stage 3 and programme information, and a copy of the University's Special Conditions under JCT form of contract. The Closed Tender (with 4 contractors TBC) will run across end-November 2019 - end January 2020 (8 weeks): The location of the site is Bailrigg Campus, Lancaster, LA1 4YW. https://www.lancaster.ac.uk/media/lancaster-university/contentassets/ documents/maps/campus-map.pdf The campus is a public space and so sections are open to members of the public and can be explored at their convenience unaccompanied by a University's representative.
