Notice Title

IPO Transformation Programme Market Engagement PIN.

Notice Description

The UK's IP regime is consistently ranked among the best in the world, and is central to the UK's innovation strategy, giving inventors, creatives, and entrepreneurs the confidence to invest in innovation and realise the benefits of their investments. Through the Intellectual Property Office (IPO), the UK has a well-established Intellectual Property regime for protecting and incentivising creativity and innovation to help businesses and the economy grow. However, it has been recognised that the IPO has a significant opportunity to transform the way it delivers its services to maximise its effectiveness and to help maintain its position as a global leader in the management of IP. In order to realise this opportunity the Intellectual Property Office is commencing a Transformation programme in January 2021, with the following high-level objectives focussing on our services, our customers, our people and our data: * IPO will transform the way it delivers services to its customers so that we can continue to offer exceptional customer experience in an increasingly digital world. We will put customers at the heart of those developments giving customers a consistent experience across the full range of our existing registered services (Patents, Trade Marks and Designs) and increased flexibility to respond to a changing environment; * We will provide customers with a new way to access our services and manage their entire portfolio of IP through a User account; * We will provide enhanced capability to unlock the value of the data and content we hold; * We will build the enduring capability for future development of our services by fully involving our people in the transformation journey; * We will ensure our organisational design provides the best model to allow IPO to meet its strategic objectives, providing our customers with the most effective engagement with us and also positions the IPO as a global leader in the management of IP; * Our People will have the right skills, tools and support to thrive in a digital workplace - A changing workplace will result in a need for IPO to ensure new capability requirements are met and managed in a way to ensure operational delivery is best in class and our Transformation offers an opportunity to unlock some of the existing constraints and make use of technology that offers not only the best value for money but is future proof to enable flexibility in the future; * IPO's capability will be sufficiently robust to be able to be to adaptable and responsive to a rapidly changing global environment - Our teams and services should be built in a way that enables them to be able to react to changes in the internal and external environment. The current estimate for the Transformation Programme duration is 4-5 years. If you are interested in the IPO Transformation Programme email procurement@ipo.gov.uk to ensure you receive additional information.
