Notice Title

ESCC - JF- RFQ - Delivery of Child Protection Training for the Early Years and Childcare Workforce

Notice Description

East Sussex County Council's strategic aim is to ensure that there is a children's workforce equipped with the necessary knowledge, skills and competence needed to deliver high quality early education, childcare and play for children aged 0 to 14 years (16 years for children with Special Educational Need). In addition, a statutory requirement of The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) states that; A practitioner must be designated to take lead responsibility for safeguarding children in every setting. Childminders must take the lead responsibility themselves. The lead practitioner is responsible for liaison with local statutory children's services agencies, and with the LSP. They must provide support, advice and guidance to any other staff on an ongoing basis, and on any specific safeguarding issue as required. The lead practitioner must attend a child protection training course (Taking account of any advice from the LSP or local authority on appropriate training courses) that enables them to identify, understand and respond appropriately to signs of possible abuse and neglect' Therefore, we have identified the following priorities for training within the existing Early Years and Childcare Workforce and are looking for one training provider to deliver the training below. * Practitioner Child Protection Training for Childcare Settings * Designated Safeguarding Leads Training for Childcare Settings - Initial Training * Designated Safeguarding Leads Training for Childcare Settings - Refresher Training
