Notice Description

The UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) would like to invite potential providers able to deliver the construction of a major repair / refurbishment construction project for the British Embassy in Washington DC to express their interest. The proposed works comprise the Major Building Repair and Refurbishment of the existing British Embassy in Washington DC, USA comprising two Heritage Buildings with a combined GIFA of circa 88,000ft2 and a 1950's Office Block with a GIFA of circa 138,000ft2. The Procurement will be in accordance with 'EU Procurement Regulations' with an initial Selection Questionnaire (SQ) short listing process, followed by an Invitation to Tender (ITT) Stage. The form of Contract to be used is currently being reviewed and will be notified at SQ stage. It is anticipated that the SQ Process' will run during July 2018 with a return early August 2018, with the 'Restricted ITT Stage' December 2018 to February 2019. Works are anticipated to commence in July 2019 with a projected completion late 2021. 'Market Engagement Events' will be undertaken in London during week commencing 11th June 2018 and Washington DC during week commencing 18th June 2018. This is an opportunity to understand the bidding process and the project in more detail, meet the team, and ask any questions. If you are interested in this project, and wish to attend the 'Market Engagement Events', please register your interest by forwarding an e-mail to BEW@aecom.com no later than midnight BST on Friday 1st June 2018, indicating which Market Engagement Event you would like to attend. Further details will be issued following the receipt of expressions of interest. Please note the FCO is only seeking interested parties to express an interest to participate at this time. This Early Engagement Notice is issued solely for the purpose of alerting the market to an anticipated project and is not a call to competition and does not constitute the commencement of the procurement process. For the avoidance of doubt, participation in the market sounding exercise is not a pre-requisite for the future procurement process.
