Summary of the contracting process

NHS Supply Chain is seeking to establish a non-exclusive framework agreement for the supply of needlefree connection systems and associated products. The procurement is classified under sterilisation, disinfection, and hygiene devices, with an estimated total value of approximately £144 million over the contract period starting from 1st November 2020 to 31st October 2024. The tender process has concluded, and interested suppliers, especially those in the medical device industry, are encouraged to engage with the NHS Supply Chain customer base, which covers various regions across the United Kingdom including London, the North West and the South East.

This framework agreement presents significant business opportunities, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) that specialise in medical equipment and supplies. With an anticipated spend of £72 million in the first two years, businesses providing innovative and efficient needlefree systems are well-positioned to compete. Companies supplying hospital equipment, infusion devices, and related healthcare products will find this tender aligns with their offerings and offers a chance to expand their market reach within the NHS.
