The Provision of Main Contractor Services for UCL PEARL
Notice Description
The notice refers to services to be provided to University College London as follows: Main Contractor services for a new research facility (PEARL) located on a Brownfield site. The research proposed for PEARL focuses on accessibility and mobility in its broadest sense and in life-size, real world environments; from navigating kerbs in wheelchairs; to effects of light manipulation on streetscape navigation; to real-size train design. The works will consist of the erection of a new-build bespoke facility, on a brown field site. The overall size of the scheme is c.101m x 40m and has the following requirements: - The space needed for the experiments is noted at its longest, as 93m and at its widest, 39m, on a single floor; - The space need is for a minimum total of 2,500m2 Storage space; - The requirement for this space is that it is column-free, allowing complete flexibility of platform configuration; - The minimum ceiling height is a 10m clear height to underside of structure or acoustic lining; - C.500 person retractable seating; - House sufficient changing, fitting, meeting rooms to allow PEARL participants accessible access to these facilities when required by experimental protocols. - Aspiration for BREEAM Excellent Additional information: University College London (UCL) is not a public body within the meaning of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (the "Regulations") and is not subject to the procurement legislation. Where UCL advertises contracts in the Official Journal of the European Union, it does so on a voluntary basis and does not undertake any obligation to comply with the procurement legislation. UCL reserves its rights in full to adapt or step outside the procedures in the procurement legislation as UCL considers necessary.
