Notice Description

The City of London Corporation (the City) invites Tenders for the provision of providing new Windows & Balcony Doors in the Petticoat Tower, on the Middlesex Street Estate, E1 7EE. As part of its repairs and maintenance programme, the City of London has identified up to 72 balcony door and window units needing replacement in Petticoat Tower, Middlesex Street. The existing door and window sets will be removed and replaced with new, more efficient and contemporary windows and doors (double glazed). The new window and door sets are required to: - Protect the building from external conditions - Provide privacy and security - Improve acoustic performance as much as reasonably possible - Provide thermal insultation - Aid in the external fabric's resistance to spread of fire - Provide access to daylight and the balcony - Provide controllable ventilation - Resist wind loadings and provide protection from falling and impact The duration of the contract is 9 months, subject to the right of the City (at its sole discretion) to exercise its right to extend the Contract by up to 3 months. The maximum length of the contract is therefore 12 months.
