Summary of the contracting process

Plymouth City Council is currently in the planning stage of the "Ocean City Festival Soft Market Test," seeking to engage potential partners for a high-quality music event scheduled for 2020. This procurement process falls under the category of festival organisation services, and aims to support the Mayflower 400 commemoration. Interested suppliers must submit expressions of interest by 12:00 (noon) on 30th June 2017, with all correspondence facilitated through the designated procurement portal. The event is set to take place in the South West of England.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in festival organisation and event services, particularly those with experience in coordinating large-scale music events. Companies that can showcase their capability to deliver attractive and commercially viable festivals, especially ones featuring international headliners, would benefit from this opportunity. Engaging in this market test could position businesses favourably for future contracts related to the major commemoration in 2020.

Notice Title

Ocean City Festival Soft Market Test

Notice Description

Plymouth City Council is looking for a partner to deliver a high quality music event, starting 2018. We are engaging in a soft market test exercise to assess the market's capacity, interest and capability for commercial music events. Ideally we are looking at a weekend festival event, but we are open to suggestions. We are looking for a mass appeal event with a US international headliner in 2020. The significance of 2020 is huge. In 2020 the United Kingdom, United States of America and Holland will commemorate and celebrate the 400th anniversary of the sailing of the Mayflower. Mayflower 400 is a programme of events on a transformational scale; it is a platform for an international commemoration of the remarkable relationship between these nations which began with the sailing of the Mayflower on 16 September 1620. Suppliers interested in this opportunity should visit www.supplyingthesouthwest.org.uk and search Ocean City Music Festival. All expressions of interest and proposals should be submitted via the portal no later than 12:00 (noon) on Friday 30th June 2017.
