Job Title: Capital Projects Manager Rate of Pay: PS26.23 per hour Hours: 37 hours per week Location: Operations and Development Centre, Roway Lane, Oldbury, B69 3ES. Start Date: ASAP Contract type: Agency Job Description and Personnel Specification are attached, which also provides more information above the role. Brief description: There has never been such an exciting time to work for the Housing Team within Sandwell Council. With the changes in legislation coming in and an ambitious Housing Strategy to deliver we have a wide range of large-scale regeneration and improvement projects that will improve the quality of homes we provide to our residents. As well as a number of major projects to improve and modernise our residential high-rise blocks around the borough we have some ground-breaking innovative projects as we turn our carbon zero and energy. Sandwell is looking to recruit a small team of Capital Project Managers to play a central role in the design of the programme and the delivery of a number of high profile, high priority regeneration projects. The projects that you will lead are fundamental to Sandwell delivering cohesive and thriving neighbourhoods that people want to live in and that promote health and wellbeing. The post holder will work in collaboration with council teams, partner organisations, and other stakeholders. A general understanding of council policies in relation to procurement, governance, decision making, risk and budget management would be beneficial but is not essential and we welcome applicants from the private, charitable and public sectors. You will be educated to degree level or have substantial construction related project management experience and able to work at the highest level - driving forward delivery whilst also effectively managing risk. Key to this role is leading complex projects so you must be experienced at managing projects and be able to evidence project management competencies. Requirements Candidates must be qualified to Degree Level in a relevant subject OR be able to demonstrate extensive experience of managing projects with values between PS5m and PS50m. They must also possess a Practitioner Level Prince 2 qualification or have other equivalent project management experience. This post does not require a DBS. This is a politically restricted post and is inside IR35. The pay rate for this post is PS26.23 per hour, please ensure that all candidates are aware of this rate.
