Summary of the contracting process

The Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking a contractor for the "Quotation for Young People's Mentoring Service," aimed at providing mentoring services to young individuals engaged with the Sandwell Youth Offending Service. This procurement process has reached the award stage, following the conclusion of the tender period which ended on 25 February 2019. The contract is set to commence on 1 April 2019 and will last for an initial year, with the possibility of extension up to three years, subject to performance and funding. The service will primarily address youth education, specifically targeting complex needs within the cohort involved in offending, and is located in the West Midlands, United Kingdom.

This tender presents significant opportunities for organisations specialised in youth services, mentoring, and related community support, particularly those with innovative and adaptable approaches. Businesses focusing on personalised support strategies that engage with families and communities will be well-positioned to compete for this contract. Given the nature of the service and the emphasis on relationship-based practice, firms experienced in delivering youth education services and positive outcome-focused mentoring would benefit from this engagement. Interested parties should prepare for potential collaboration to meet the nuanced needs outlined in the tender.
