Notice Title

Quantitative Whole Slide Imaging System

Notice Description

This machine will be used to archive and study post mortem and donor material from a rare and precious collection of pancreatic material collected from patients (mostly children) with Type 1 diabetes. These unique and critical pancreatic specimens provide the only opportunity available to study this disease, in its originating organ, at diagnosis in this age group of people. Accurate, comprehensive utility and archiving of this rare resource is the primary objective of the current application. Importantly these samples were not collected in optimal conditions so require careful imaging and analysis to ensure maximum utility.
