Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process involves Bucks New University seeking tenders for a service contract focused on the maintenance of fire alarms and intruder alarms across multiple campuses, including High Wycombe and Uxbridge. The procurement is currently at the award stage, having been completed on 24th July 2018. The initial contract period starts on 1st August 2018 and runs for three years, with potential extensions of up to two additional years based on performance. The anticipated value of the contract ranges from £42,000 to £50,000, and interested suppliers were required to submit their expressions of interest by 2nd May 2018.

This tender presents an excellent opportunity for businesses specialising in security system maintenance, particularly those experienced with ADT closed protocol alarm systems, to establish a long-term partnership with an academic institution. Suppliers that can provide a comprehensive service contract, including regular maintenance visits and 24/7 emergency support, would be particularly well-suited. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to compete, given the open procurement method, which supports a diverse range of suppliers in the industry.
