Summary of the contracting process

The Equality and Human Rights Commission has completed a procurement process for the project titled "Prejudice and unlawful behaviour: building capability and evaluating 'what works' (Lot 4)." This project falls within the social research services category and seeks to address issues related to prejudice, discrimination, and identity-based violence. The contract, valued at £11,000, commenced on 5 December 2016 and is set to conclude on 31 March 2017. The tender, which followed an open procurement method, had a submission deadline of 14 November 2016.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for businesses to engage in social research services, particularly those who specialise in evaluating effective interventions to combat social issues. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations would be well-suited to compete, especially those capable of collaborative work. Given the emphasis on consortium bids, businesses with complementary skills and expertise can position themselves to effectively respond to the requirements of this tender.

Notice Title

Prejudice and unlawful behaviour: building capability and evaluating 'what works' (Lot 4)

Notice Description

The aim of the project is to 'lift the floor' on 'what works' to tackle prejudice, discrimination and identity-based violence and harassment by: * Building capability through evaluation guidance and training (Lot 1) * Robustly evaluating the effectiveness of promising interventions (Lots 2-5). Suppliers can bid for one or more Lots - see section 11 for further detail. Please note that the Commission is interested in consortium bids where the research needs of the projects may not be met to a high standard within one organisation and will also accept bids from single, capable organisations. The two Lots are designed to take place in parallel and it would be desirable for the work of one Lot to inform the other. Because of this, it is important that the successful bidder(s) are willing to work collaboratively, where appropriate. The Commission will put successful bidders in touch with each other, if necessary, following appointments.
