Summary of the contracting process

The Portsmouth City Council is seeking to award a contract titled "Provision of Standby Berthing Services" for a duration of three years, with an option for a two-year extension. This contract, estimated between £130,000 and £175,000 per annum based on previous requirements, will commence on 1 June 2020. The procurement is currently in the Tender stage, with the submission deadline set for 26 November 2019. The services will be required on a 24-hour basis for approximately 364 days a year at the Portsmouth International Port, which is situated in Hampshire, focusing on berthing and port operation services.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses in the maritime services sector, particularly those specialising in port operations and staffing solutions for marine facilities. Companies that can provide skilled relief personnel for mooring vessels and ensuring safe port operations would be well-suited to compete for this contract. Given the high volume of traffic at Portsmouth International Port, businesses that showcase experience in managing similar operational demands will likely have a competitive advantage in this procurement process.
