Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process is managed by Kirklees Council, which is seeking contractors for the "KMCHS-250 Framework Agreement for Highways Drainage Maintenance" under the Yorkshire Highway Alliance. This framework covers highway and non-highway drainage maintenance works across several local authorities in the Yorkshire and Humber region, including Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds, Wakefield, and York. The total contract value is £6,462,000, with the contract period running from 1 February 2019 to 31 January 2023. The tender process was open, concluding on 26 November 2018, with a published date for the tender notice on 24 October 2018.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses focused on construction, drainage services, and traffic management, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary community sector enterprises (VCSEs). Companies that can provide expertise in plumbing, ground-drainage work, and related construction tasks within the specified local authorities should consider competing for this contract. Given the contract's expansive geographical reach and the opportunity to pitch for multiple lots, businesses prepared to manage varying scales of operation will likely find significant potential for growth.
