Notice Description

Solihull Community Housing (SCH) is an Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO) that was established in April 2004 to takeover the management of housing services on behalf of Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC). SCH's responsibilities include the management and maintenance of the Councils' housing stock which consists of approximately 10,748 properties. This portfolio includes houses, maisonettes, high rise and low rise flats, sheltered accommodation and community centres. Solihull Community Housing (SCH) is looking to appoint a suitable contractor to carry out the construction of a total of 14 two storey 2 and 3 bedroom dwellings across two locations within the Metropolitan Borough of Solihull. The project includes both sites. Sites: 1) Green Hill Way, Shirley, Solihull B90 3PW 5 two-storey units 2) Cambridge Drive, Birmingham B37 5NT 9 two-storey units It is anticipated that the Contract shall commence between January 2017 - May 2017. SCH expects to appoint one contractor to deliver works for this project. The proposed term of this Contract is for a period of 2 years. Contractors will only be considered for the award of this contract if they can demonstrate experience of delivering construction works for a similar client to Solihull Community Housing and meet any minimum requirements detailed within the tender documents. Minimum Requirements: In order to be considered for the award of this project, Tenderers must demonstrate experience in delivering a similar new build construction project within the last 3 years. Any Tenderer who fails to demonstrate recent experience in the delivery of a contract of this nature will not be considered for the award of this contract. The Tenderer's experience will be determined based on their response to the Experience question in Schedule 2 of the tender documents. Timescales: Tenders Issued 29 September 2017 Tender Query Deadline 24 October 2017 Tender Submission Deadline 2 November 2017 Tender Evaluation 2 - 22 November 2017 Award Decision No later than April 2018 Contract Commencement No later than May 2018 The successful contractor is to be selected through a formal open tender process. Contractors must view and download the documents attached on this portal and submit them via the portal by the tender deadline of 12:00 midday on Thursday 2nd November 2017. All queries related to the tender documents or process must be asked in writing and using the Correspondence feature on the portal. Organisations have until 12:00 midday on Tuesday 24th October 2017 to ask questions. Additional information: The successful contractor is to be selected through a formal open tender process. The tender process will be managed through an electronic tendering portal at www.csw-jets.co.uk. In order to view the project details and tender documents and be considered for the award of this contract, contractors must register on this above portal. Contractors must view and download the documents attached on this portal and submit them via the portal by the tender deadline of 12:00 midday on Thursday 2nd November 2017.
