Summary of the contracting process

Public Health England (PHE) is conducting an open tender for the "Provision of Reagents for Helicobacter Pylori Testing," aimed at supplying kits for H.Pylori testing initially for the Colindale site, with potential for further locations as needed. The tender is currently active, with a deadline for submissions set for 24th January 2018. The contract is valued at £140,000 and is classified under laboratory reagents within the goods procurement category. The contract period is expected to commence on 19th February 2018 and conclude on 18th February 2020.

This tender presents significant opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the laboratory supplies sector, particularly those specialising in medical testing reagents. Businesses capable of providing solutions compatible with specified platforms—such as Rotor-Gene Q and various Applied Biosystems systems—would be well-positioned to compete. The prospect of a 2 + 1 + 1 contract configuration allows for continued collaboration and potential growth within the public health sphere, especially for businesses aiming to expand their presence in healthcare-related procurement.
