Summary of the contracting process

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is currently in the planning stage for the National Patient Experience Survey Programme (Ref: CQC PSO 114). This initiative falls under the administrative healthcare services industry category. Key milestones include the engagement end date set for 23rd February 2018. Interested parties are invited to express their interest in this programme, which is crucial for collecting data on patient experiences in healthcare settings across the United Kingdom, including British Overseas Territories and the Channel Islands. The current framework of contracts is set to expire in November 2018, prompting this early engagement exercise.

This tender presents an excellent opportunity for businesses involved in social research services, data analysis, and healthcare consultancy to expand their market presence. Companies that can demonstrate expertise in patient experience surveys and have the capability to engage with healthcare providers will find a suitable environment here to compete for future contracts. CQC is eager to gather expressions of interest, which will help shape its future commissioning strategy, making now a pivotal time for relevant organisations to position themselves in a vital sector of public health services.

Notice Title

Early Engagement - CQC National Patient Experience Survey Programme (Ref: CQC PSO 114)

Notice Description

The Care Quality Commission ("CQC") wishes to invite Expressions of Interest from organisations in its future National Patient Experience Survey Programme requirements. CQC is responsible for delivering the National Patient Experience Survey programme on behalf of NHS England and the Department of Health (DH). This survey programme is a central aspect of CQC's strategy for 2016 - 2021, 'Shaping the Future'. The survey programme consists of five national and official statistics which are regulated under the Office of National Statistics Code of Practice. It is the single largest reliable source of evidence on people's experience of care in acute and community mental health sectors. Data from the programme is a key way to provide information to Healthcare Commissioners and providers of care to support improvement and understand the impact of national policy on people's experiences of care. The current programme is delivered, in part, by an independent Co-ordination Centre and a set of contractors on a supplier framework which NHS Trusts are able to contract with locally to deliver their surveys. The existing contracts are due to expire in November 2018, and CQC would like to engage with the market and gather expressions of interest from organisations, in order to inform its future commissioning intentions with regards to the Survey Programme. Please note that at this stage CQC only wishes to gather expressions of interest only in this potential service requirement - this Notice is not a call for tenders or a pre-qualification exercise, and has been generated solely for the purposes of inviting expressions of interest, and may not reflect any information which may ultimately be presented in any potential future tendering exercise. Additional information: To express an initial interest, please send an e-mail (quoting reference CQC PSO 114) to commercialcontracts@cqc.org.uk . When responding, please confirm your organisation's name, registered office address and contact details. It is envisaged CQC will be utilising its E-Tendering Portal for future communications and activity for this potential requirement. Therefore, CQC kindly requests that organisations who intend to express an interest also registers on CQC's E-Tendering Portal via the following weblink - https://cqc-commercial.bravosolution.co.uk. Should you encounter any difficulties when registering, a dedicated helpdesk hosted by Bravo Solutions is available and can be contacted on 0800 368 4850.
