Summary of the contracting process

The National Archives Public Record Office in Richmond, England, has completed a public procurement process for a project titled "Funding Feasibility Study". This tender was initiated to conduct a comprehensive study assessing the organisation's ability to raise funds for redeveloping public spaces over the next four years. The primary procurement stage was awarded to Gifted Philanthropy, with an awarded contract value of £25,000 for a duration from 16th September 2016 to 31st March 2017. The original tender period for bids concluded on 5th September 2016, and the classification for the tender falls under Research and Development Services and Recreational, Cultural, and Sporting Services.

This opportunity is particularly suited for businesses specialising in fundraising consultancy and experienced in working with public records or heritage organisations. With the National Archives seeking expert assistance to develop an action plan for a fundraising campaign, companies that can offer strategic fundraising models and assess internal organisational capabilities could benefit significantly from this contract. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to engage, as the procurement has a suitability tag favouring SME participation, thus opening avenues for growth and collaboration in the public sector.

Notice Title

Funding Feasibility Study

Notice Description

Over the next 4 years, we will deliver an ambitious plan to redevelop our public spaces to cultivate a more diverse programme that appeals to new and existing audiences. We have detailed plans in place for the capital work and will submit a stage one bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund Heritage Grants programme at the end of November. As a public funded body fundraising on this scale is new to us, and a funding feasibility study will form a fundamental part of this preparatory work. We wish to commission a Funding Feasibility Study to assess the current and future position of the organisation to raise funds to support this plan through potential funders. We are looking for a fundraising professional to work with us to: * Consider The National Archives networks and contacts, assessing those which may be in a position to support such a campaign * Assess where lead and support funding will come from * Produce an outline strategic action plan setting out resource and phasing required to achieve our target * Assess internal fundraising capacity and structure and its appropriateness to deliver a capital campaign * Test the case for support with potential funders, incorporating any feedback for future use * Testing the robustness of fundraising targets * Consider the key fundraising risks and stress points * Identify the critical success factors
