Summary of the contracting process

The University of Southampton is procuring an Enterprise Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system aimed at managing the entire student lifecycle. This procurement falls under the IT services industry and is currently in the award stage, with a total contract value of £189,600. The contract is set to commence on 6th April 2020 and will end on 20th July 2020. The procurement method used was selective, specifically a call-off from a framework agreement. The deadline for tender submissions was 2nd March 2020, and the delivery address for the contract is located in Southampton, England.

This tender offers significant opportunities for businesses, particularly those specialising in IT services such as consulting, software development, and support. Companies with experience in CRM systems and a track record of delivering scalable solutions would be especially well-positioned to compete. Additionally, voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSE) may find niche opportunities within this procurement, given their alignment with the university's engagement goals.

Notice Title

Enterprise CRM for Recruitment & Admissions

Notice Description

The University undertook a discovery assignment during March to May 2019, focused on documenting a high-level business case for implementing an enterprise wide Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to engage and manage the entire student lifecycle. The primary objective of the exercise was to assess what successful outcomes could be achieved in the short term and the longer term from any future deployment. The scope of this assignment did include high level understanding of the existing operational environment and most importantly, identify at a high-level, options currently available to realise short term wins and longer-term benefits. The assignment provided evidence to the University that they have a need for the development of a new single common platform for its ongoing CRM requirements. The roll out of a common platform will allow for the e-commissioning of legacy, point solution CRM applications plus many small databases and spreadsheet tools. It will allow for process rationalisation and data harmonisation across the Universities institution.
