Summary of the contracting process

NHS Shared Business Services is seeking to establish a Social Prescribing Service in Wandsworth with a focus on improving social and clinical outcomes for individuals with long-term conditions and their carers. This initiative is currently in the planning stage, with an engagement process concluding by 10th April 2019. The service aims to launch in September 2019, following a potential contract award in June 2019. Interested providers can find more details in related documents available via Contracts Finder. This procurement falls under the health and social work services category and is expected to operate within a budget of approximately £200k per year with a contract duration of up to four years.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for growth, particularly for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) that offer services in health and social care. As the Wandsworth service will operate from Primary Care practices and collaborate closely with local wellbeing hubs, businesses that specialise in community health solutions, patient engagement, and support services will be well-placed to compete. Engaging in this market could lead to enhanced visibility and collaboration opportunities within the healthcare sector in London.
