The underlying issue is that the Painting & Decorating occupation has skills supply and demand gaps across all regions of Scotland. This was borne out by the recent CITB regional skills analysis which showed an annual shortfall of 2,450 employment opportunities: 'the gap'. This has been noted by CITB as a high-risk occupational issue.
