Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process focuses on the "ESF 2014-2020 Programme Support for NEET and those likely to become NEET aged 15-24," initiated by the Department for Education, with an estimated value of £53,663,769. This programme aims to support young individuals not in education, employment, or training across various locations, including the UK and other regions. The procurement is currently in the Award stage, with contracts set to commence from April 1, 2019, and conclude on July 31, 2021. The procurement method employed is an open procedure, which typically allows any interested suppliers to submit their bids before the tender deadline, which has already passed on September 17, 2018.

This tender provides substantial opportunities for businesses involved in education and training services, especially for small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs). Businesses offering innovative educational solutions, personalised learning programmes, or support services tailored for NEET individuals may find this a ripe opportunity to engage and expand their presence in this sector. Given the focus on supporting vulnerable youth, organisations with a strong outreach and bespoke programme offerings will likely be well-positioned to compete for these contracts.
