Notice Title

Provision of a Molecular Enteric Syndromic platform for extraction and detection of bacteria, viruses and parasites from stool specimens.

Notice Description

As a part of a planned sourcing activity for the provision of an automated syndromic enteric molecular screening service for bacteria, viruses and parasites, Public Health England (PHE) is organising two Supplier Days on the 7th and 8th January 2019 in Colindale, London PHE is seeking to establish a high-throughput and cost-efficient syndromic enteric molecular screening platform across its National Infection service (NIS). We seek to procure systems for the automated extraction and detection of bacteria, viruses and parasites from stool specimens. Although this will be a capital purchase, it is intended that any service, support and supply of bespoke consumables (if applicable) will be covered for the lifetime of the equipment or until PHE re-tenders the requirement. Any equipment and services being offered must support International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 15189: 2012 and ISO 17025: 2005 under which PHE's lab services operate. The initial requirement is for installation in four PHE diagnostic laboratories. However, PHE has laboratories located throughout England and new requirements could be identified during the course of this contract.
