Summary of the contracting process

The East of England NHS Collaborative Hub, operating under the West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, is currently seeking tenders for a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) focused on Specialist Pharmacy Courier Services for Deliveries to Patients. This service falls under the broader category of courier services within the public health sector, with an estimated value of £20 million. The procurement process is at the planning stage, and the deadline for contract submissions is set for 11th January 2031, allowing potential suppliers ample time to prepare and apply. The DPS will allow new suppliers to join at any point throughout its duration, promoting flexibility in the procurement process.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses, particularly those specialised in logistics and healthcare-related courier services. Companies capable of delivering outpatient medications or discharge medications directly to patients’ homes or workplaces are particularly well-suited to compete. Smaller courier firms or those looking to expand into the healthcare sector can also benefit from this dynamic purchasing system, as there is no limit on the number of suppliers that can participate, ensuring a competitive landscape and a chance for growth and collaboration within the public health supply chain.
