Summary of the contracting process

Essex County Council (ECC) is currently in the planning stage of a procurement process titled "Networking," aimed at modernising and enhancing their networking solutions across approximately 160 sites in Essex. Interested parties must submit their written responses to a problem statement by noon on 8 February 2021, with supplier engagement sessions scheduled to occur remotely between 5 and 17 March 2021. Confirmation of selected suppliers will be announced during the week commencing 22 February 2021.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in networking equipment, wide area network services, and related technologies. Businesses with expertise in designing and implementing modern networking solutions, especially those who can demonstrate their adaptability in response to challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, will be particularly well-placed to compete. As ECC is also open to potential collaborations with other public sector bodies, businesses that can offer innovative solutions and partnerships may have an advantage in this procurement process.
