Summary of the contracting process

The Cambridgeshire District Councils recently initiated a tender process for the "CPCA - Peer to Peer Network Programme", aimed at enhancing the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within the region. This procurement falls under the miscellaneous business and business-related services category and was announced with the intention to appoint up to two providers to facilitate cohort groups across designated geographical lots. Although the tender has unfortunately been cancelled, the original procurement method selected was an open procedure with an accelerated approach implemented to expedite the realisation of benefits aimed at economic recovery before the funding expiry date of 31st March 2021.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialised in community engagement, business consultancy, and support services geared towards SMEs. Potential competitors would benefit from understanding the local dynamics and requirements of the growth hubs outlined, as this initiative sought to bolster economic recovery through collaborative frameworks. Companies with capabilities in providing tailored business development support, training, and facilitation for peer networks would be well-suited to engage with such procurement processes in the future.
