Summary of the contracting process

The Southern Universities Purchasing Consortium (SUPC) is conducting an active tender for the supply of "IRLA - Antibodies and Sera (and other matrices)." This procurement falls under the goods category, specifically focusing on immune sera and immunoglobulins. Bids are due by 26 March 2021, with the award period commencing the same day. The contract is expected to operate across various locations in the UK and has a total estimated value of £32,100,000, which includes a substantial commitment toward antibodies with an estimated yearly expenditure of around £10 million.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in the life sciences and biotechnology sectors, particularly those supplying antibodies, sera, or related matrices. Suppliers that can effectively respond to the flexible specifications outlined, and those with the capabilities to cater to both human and animal product needs, will find themselves well-positioned. Firms should also be aware that future call-off contracts may be partially funded by external sources, including European Union funding, enhancing the competitive landscape for organisations able to meet strict compliance and promotion terms under the framework agreement.
