Summary of the contracting process

The SEC Zero Carbon Framework, initiated by the South East Consortium, is aimed at advancing environmental improvement works within the construction industry. Located in Croydon, Surrey, this procurement process is currently in the active tender phase, having been extended to a final submission deadline of 23 April 2021. The framework is designed to support the housing sector's transition to Net Zero Carbon, and it can be accessed by a wide range of publicly funded organisations, giving them the opportunity to participate in its various lots, which cover design, installation, and maintenance for low and zero carbon solutions.

This tender offers significant growth opportunities for businesses specialising in environmental services, energy efficiency, and construction. Companies focusing on thermal insulation, renewable energy installation (such as solar and battery storage), and electric vehicle charging solutions would be particularly well-suited to compete. With a substantial budget of £5 billion allocated to the framework, suppliers within these niches are encouraged to engage actively in this procurement, optimising their chances to secure lucrative contracts while contributing to sustainable housing initiatives.
