Expression of Interest: Care at Home provision for Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
Notice Description
The purpose of this notice is to invite experienced organisations who deliver this type of provision to participate in a scoping exercise with Blackpool Council to help design a delivery model aimed at delivering the very best care and support to Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. This exercise is in response to the requirements of legislation set out in the Children's Act 1989 and 2004, amongst others, which aims to provide the following provision for Young People and Children with SEND: * Day-time care in the homes of disabled children or elsewhere * Overnight care in the home of disabled children or elsewhere Blackpool Council wishes to enter into a dialogue with organisations that have a proven track record in supporting children and young people with a wide range of physical, mental and/or learning disabilities, including working with children who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Experience of one, or both, of the following forms of provision is important: * Overnight respite care for children with SEND * 1:1 personal care in the home, and in the community where necessary, for Children and Young People with SEND

The main purpose of this notice is to help the Council understand the local market position with regards to specialist provision available locally for the care and support of Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities in their own home. Blackpool Council would like to learn more about the local Children's Care market in order to better plan for future delivery models of care provision. Gaining a better understanding of how care organisations plan, organise and deliver care to Children and Young People within the Blackpool area will enable the Council to plan for more effective commissioning of services in the future. Interested parties are asked to respond to the attached questionnaire via The Chest no later than 12 noon on Monday 15th March 2021
