Emergency Call Out with Minor Works and Subsidence Repairs Framework
Notice Description
Lot 1 - Emergency Call Out with Minor Works To respond to public safety incidents on a 24 hour/365 day basis. Initial emergency response is to attend a public safety incident to ensure the hazard is secured. Typical hazards relating to past coal mining present issues such as ground collapses of shallow shafts, adits, outbreaks of mine water and gas emissions and mine workings. Lot 2 - Subsidence Repairs The works primarily consist of undertaking subsidence repairs and decorations to domestic properties. All works will follow an agreed schedule of repairs and decorations that may be varied by agreement with the Authority. The repairs and decorations will entail working with residents to minimise disruption to their property but ensuring that a high standard of repairs and decorations are undertaken. Repairs may also be undertaken to non-domestic properties such as factories, offices, etc. to the same standard. Repairs will be carried out to buildings, roads and any other structures damaged due to coal mining subsidence.

The framework will be divided into 10 Lots as shown below: Lot number Contract Region 1.1 ECO Scotland 1.2 ECO North East & Cumbria. 1.3 ECO North West, North Wales & Yorkshire. 1.4 ECO East & West Midlands 1.5 ECO South Wales & South West 2.1 Subs Scotland 2.2 Subs North East & Cumbria. 2.3 Subs North West, North Wales & Yorkshire. 2.4 Subs East & West Midlands 2.5 Subs South Wales & South West This is a non-exclusive framework agreement, and the Coal Authority is unable to guarantee the volume and value of allocated work. Tenderers may submit a bid for single, multiple or all lot(s). Emergency Call Out - To respond to public safety incidents on a 24 hour/365 day basis. The initial emergency response is to attend a public safety incident within 4 hours of notification and erect temporary fencing and warning notices (within 6 hours of notification) to ensure the hazard is secured. Typical hazards relating to past coal mining present issues such as ground collapses of shafts and adits, outbreaks of mine water and gas emissions, therefore the following types of remedial works may be required: * Filling of open shafts/adits/mine-workings/voids, * Mass concrete plugging of shafts/adits/mine-working/voids, * Reinforced concrete capping of shafts/adits, * Treatment of fissures, geotextiles, * Permanent fencing, * Associated reinstatement works, * Drainage works, * Maintenance works to coal authority sites and spoil tips, * Gabion baskets. The works may also include undertaking the following for non-coal mining activities: * Enabling works e.g. site clearance/site access. Subsidence Damage Repair and Decorating - The works will primarily consist of undertaking repairs and decorations to domestic properties through the regions specified. All works will follow an agreed schedule of repairs and decorations that may be varied by agreement with the Authority.
