Summary of the contracting process

The London Borough of Lambeth is conducting the Block Cleaning and Concierge Services contract for its 33,839 council-owned homes across the borough, aiming to provide comprehensive cleaning and ancillary services. This contract is in the active tender stage and follows a selective procurement method (restricted procedure). The anticipated start date for the service is 1st October 2021, with a contract duration of six years, extendable for an additional eight years if options are exercised. The maximum contract value is £99,050,000 over a possible 14-year term.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in cleaning and sanitation services, waste management, and concierge services. Companies that adhere to the London Living Wage and have experience dealing with large cleaning contracts would be particularly well-suited to compete. The requirement for compliance with the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006 (TUPE) could also present advantages for established firms that focus on employee welfare and retention.
