Notice Description

Gt Dunmow Town Council is contracting for extension works at ET Foakes Memorial Hall, Gt Dunmow, Essex CM6 1DG. The works comprise the partial demolition of the existing structure and construction of a new 3-storey side extension including basement, internal alterations to the existing building, and associated external works and drainage. The works are programmed to commence on site on 26th July 2021. Contract duration will be 16 weeks. The works have been fully detailed by Edward Parsley Associates Ltd, who have also been appointed to administer the building contract and to act as Principal Designer. However, under the terms of the building contract (JCT ICD2016) the contractor will be required to complete the design and construction of basement waterproofing system, concrete beam and block flooring, timber internal and steel external stairs, and mechanical and electrical services installations. Part of the adjacent car park will be available for use as compound area by the contractor for the duration of the works. The existing Memorial Hall building will be unoccupied throughout. The procurement will be via single stage selective tender and it is anticipated that an order will be placed with the successful contractor early in July 2021.
