Summary of the contracting process

The North West Contractor Framework, initiated by Oldham Council, is a significant public procurement opportunity within the construction sector, particularly aimed at supporting various public sector bodies across the North West of England. This framework is designed to span a maximum duration of four years, commencing on 1st April 2022 and estimated to conclude in March 2026. The framework facilitates the procurement of construction works, with a total estimated value of £1.8 billion, and is structured into multiple lots targeting different project value bands. It is essential for interested parties to note that effective engagement with this framework will be governed by the Open procurement method, with a focus on delivering construction services including new builds and refurbishments.

This framework presents vast opportunities for growth, particularly for SMEs and larger construction firms that can meet the diverse needs of the public sector, including schools, NHS bodies, local authorities, and other government agencies. Businesses specialising in construction, infrastructure development, or related services will find significant potential within this framework, especially those equipped to handle projects valued between £50,000 and over £30 million. The emphasis on social value in procurement further enhances the appeal for firms committed to delivering positive community impacts alongside traditional construction outcomes.
