Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process involves Cardiff University seeking tenders for the "Maintenance of Lifts" service, falling under the lift-maintenance services industry category. The tender is currently active and was initiated under an open procurement method, which allows any qualified bidder to submit a proposal. The tender period ran until 28 May 2021, and the estimated contract value is £200,000, covering maintenance across the Cardiff University Estate in the UK. The contract is designed for a duration of three years, with the potential for a two-year extension.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in maintenance services, particularly those with expertise in lift systems and compliance with health and safety regulations. Companies focused on delivering community benefits, as required by the university, will find this tender attractive. Notably, established service providers as well as smaller firms aiming to expand their public sector contracts will be well-suited to compete. This is an opportunity for bidders to showcase their capacity to meet the rigorous standards expected by a prestigious educational institution.
