Summary of the contracting process

The National Services Scotland is conducting a procurement for the supply and delivery of Cardiology Stents, specifically focusing on medical consumables for use in Percutaneous Coronary Intervention procedures. This open tender process is active and is set to close on 9th August 2021, with an award period commencing thereafter. The framework agreement applies to various NHS Scotland health boards and organisations, and bidders are encouraged to submit their proposals electronically via the PCS-Tender platform. The estimated value for this contract is £13,000,000, covering a potential contract duration of approximately three years with options for renewal.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for businesses within the medical supplies industry, especially those supply cardiology-related products. Firms that specialise in providing high-quality medical devices, such as stents and catheters, and can demonstrate compliance with the strict industry standards set forth by the NHS would be well-suited to compete in this tender. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that can offer innovative solutions and value for money will likely find a competitive edge in this framework, given the emphasis on cost and quality in the evaluation criteria.
