Summary of the contracting process

The Fylde Coast Academy Trust (FCAT) is currently seeking to establish a multi-supplier framework for catering services, specifically for its schools located in Blackpool, UK. This tender, titled "School Catering Framework Contract for FCAT Schools," is at the active planning stage, with a submission deadline set for 21st May 2021. The procurement method follows a selective and restricted procedure, and it aims to award contracts that commence in November 2021. The framework anticipates engaging between one to three catering service providers, with a contract duration of five years (including options to extend).

This opportunity presents a significant prospect for businesses operating within the catering industry, particularly those with experience in school food services or the capacity to deliver flexible, high-quality catering solutions tailored to local requirements. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to participate, as the contract provides a minimum turnover requirement of £250,000 and stipulates essential insurance criteria. Businesses capable of demonstrating a robust local infrastructure and reliable staffing resources will be well-positioned to meet the needs of FCAT and other schools that may opt to use the framework.
