Summary of the contracting process

Forestry and Land Scotland has initiated a tender for the "Geotechnical Works Framework" aimed at addressing geotechnical works necessary for safety and infrastructure at FLS sites. This procurement, classified under civil engineering works (CPV code 45200000), is being conducted through an open procedure, with an estimated value of £5,000,000. The tender period concluded on 31st May 2021, with the award period commencing shortly thereafter. Interested suppliers should note that this framework will consist of a maximum of five awarded suppliers, with the potential for contract modifications based on operational needs.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in geotechnical engineering services, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) capable of offering a range of geotechnical solutions such as slope reinforcement and rock removal. Businesses equipped with the necessary certifications and technical qualifications, including those employing innovative technologies like drones, will be well-suited to compete in this framework. The expectation for proactive community benefits and environmental protection may also incentivise SMEs focused on sustainable practices to participate.
