Summary of the contracting process

VisitScotland is seeking to award a commissioning contract for a creative project as part of the Festival UK* 2022. This initiative, classified under cultural event organisation services, is positioned to take place across various locations in Scotland in 2022. The procurement method employed is a limited procedure, allowing for the direct award of the contract without prior publication due to the unique nature of the creative works required. The contractual value amounts to £8,500,000, which includes a reserve of £500,000 held by the Scottish Government. The award notice was issued on 4 June 2021, following a minimum observation period post-publication.

This tender offers significant opportunities for growth, particularly for businesses and creative teams engaged in the arts, cultural events, and innovative performances. Entities with expertise in producing unique artistic works will be especially competitive, as the contract is tailored to those capable of delivering a diverse and compelling programme that aligns with the goals of the Festival UK* 2022. Collaboration with established firms, such as Culture & Sport Glasgow, is encouraged, providing avenues for smaller or emerging businesses to participate as subcontractors within the Creative Team.
