Summary of the contracting process

The University of Lincoln has completed a procurement process for a "Legal Services Panel," valued at £2,000,000, intended to provide legal advice across four core deliverable areas including General and Commercial, Property, Employment, and Student Focus. The procurement process used a selective method and followed a two-stage approach, where the initial shortlisting through a questionnaire led to a tender and award phase. The panel of five appointed providers will serve the university for an initial period of three years, from 1st June 2021 to 31st May 2024, with an option to extend for an additional two years. This procurement was conducted under the Light Touch Regime as outlined in the Public Contracts Regulations 2015, with a standstill period allowing unsuccessful tenderers to challenge the award decisions.

This tender presents a lucrative opportunity for law firms specialising in legal services, particularly those with experience in higher education, property, and employment law. Businesses with a strong background in providing comprehensive legal support, especially those positioned within or close to Lincolnshire, would be well-placed to compete in this tender. The selection process's high standards require bidders to demonstrate competence across multiple areas of legal expertise, making it essential for interested firms to showcase relevant credentials and successful case histories to secure a place on the panel.
