Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process involves Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd planning for the Midland Mainline Electrification Phase 3 project, which focuses on railway construction works in the UK. A market engagement briefing is scheduled for 12th July 2021 at 15:30, where interested suppliers can express their intention to participate in the discussions. This phase is crucial for gathering insights and ideas from the market, as it aims to inform potential participants about the programme and gather input on effective delivery methods. The overall estimated value of the works is £500 million, and while this is an early stage of planning, it lays the groundwork for future procurement activities related to the project.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses involved in railway construction, electrification, and associated engineering services. Construction firms, project managers, and suppliers of signalling and overhead line equipment that can demonstrate innovative solutions or efficiencies in railway infrastructure projects would be well-positioned to participate. Engaging in the market briefing could foster valuable relationships and insights regarding the forthcoming procurement process, ultimately aiding these businesses in expanding their operations in the rail industry.
