The procurement process, initiated by Harrow Council, is focused on the revitalisation of the iconic Skate Park located at Byron Recreation Ground, Wealdstone, Harrow. The project, which falls under the construction works industry category, has a planned budget of £1.16 million. Currently, it is in the planning stage with an anticipated contract notice publication date in February 2022. A virtual market engagement session is scheduled for 21 September 2021, where interested parties can provide input on the project specifications. The project aims to refurbish the facility while incorporating community feedback and engaging with specialist skate park organisations.

This tender presents valuable opportunities for businesses involved in construction and community engagement. Companies with expertise in design and build delivery, especially those experienced in skate park development, would be particularly well-suited to compete for this contract. The Council is seeking a delivery partner willing to collaborate closely throughout the project, making it imperative for suppliers to demonstrate their ability to foster community interaction and address specific project needs such as design feasibility and fundraising strategies. Engaging with this initiative could significantly contribute to the growth of businesses looking to expand into community-focused projects.
