Multi Provider Framework Agreement for the Provision of Interpreting, Translation and Related Services
Notice Description
Norfolk County Council on behalf of INTRAN has established a multi provider framework agreement for the provision of professional public interpreting, translation and related language services.INTRAN is a public and third sector multi-agency partnership that ensures people who are Deaf, and those with limited or no English proficiency, have equitable access to information and services through the provision of professional interpreting, translation, transcription and related language support services.
Lot Information
Lot 1
Intran is a multi agency partnership which provides and manages access to interpreting and translation services for people in the Eastern region and surrounding counties who are deaf, hard of hearing or whose first language is not English and cannot communicate effectively in English. The current framework agreement ends on 30.6.2022 and work has commenced on establishing the requirements for a replacement framework. It is intended that the proposed framework will, as a minimum, cover the following services:-- British Sign Language-- Face to face interpreting-- Telephone interpreting-- Translation and Braille-- Video InterpretingThe framework agreement will be split into lots for the above services. The exact make up of the lots will be included in the tender documents when they are published.It should be noted that the proposed framework is for providers of interpreting and translation and not for translators and interpreters themselves.
Face to Face and Remote English/British Sign Language Interpreting on appointment and related services - BedfordshireThis Lot will enable people who have a hearing impairment to access the communication support they need on a face-to-face basis or by video link. The core service will include the provision of Face-to-Face and Video English/British Sign Language interpreting on appointment. Priority will always, unless specifically required otherwise by the INTRAN member, be given to accessing locally-based interpreters.
Face to Face and Remote English/British Sign Language Interpreting on appointment and related services - CambridgeshireThis Lot will enable people who have a hearing impairment to access the communication support they need on a face-to-face basis or by video link. The core service will include the provision of Face-to-Face and Video English/British Sign Language interpreting on appointment. Priority will always, unless specifically required otherwise by the INTRAN member, be given to accessing locally-based interpreters.

Telephone English/Foreign languages and dialects interpreting on demandThis Lot will enable people who have limited or no English Proficiency to access a telephone interpreter in a language/dialect they understand. The access will be immediate, established within seconds of connecting, and will not be on appointment. The service will be on demand 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
Video Interpreting English/British Sign Language and related servicesThis Lot will enable people who are users of British Sign Language to communicate with staff communicating in English, via a video interpreter.
Video Interpreting English/Foreign Languages and Dialects and related servicesThis Lot will enable people who are speakers of a foreign language or dialect to communicate with staff communicating in English, via a video interpreter.
Translation, Braille and related servicesThis Lot will enable INTRAN members to access translated versions of text documents within agreed timescales.
