Summary of the contracting process

The Shetland Islands Council has completed a procurement process for the supply and delivery of Marine Grade Gas Oil, strictly complying with ISO standards, to its marine vessels. This tender, conducted through a competitive procedure with negotiation, had an estimated total value of GBP 8,000,000 over four years. The procurement method was selective, and the Council entered into a Framework Agreement with Henty Oil Ltd as the successful Tenderer.

This tender opportunity can benefit businesses in the fuel oils industry, especially those offering ship refuelling services and gas oils. Companies with experience in providing similar supplies and demonstrating security of supply in line with ISO standards are well-suited to compete. The Shetland Islands Council, as the buying organisation, emphasises the importance of quality and price in the award criteria, presenting a growth opportunity for suppliers meeting these requirements.
