Summary of the contracting process

The Crawley Borough Council and Horsham District Council have jointly undertaken a public procurement process for the "Tree Maintenance and Inspection Services Contract". This tender is categorised under the CPV classification for tree maintenance services and is specific to the regions of Crawley and Horsham in the United Kingdom. The procurement process, which commenced on 1st April 2022, was conducted via an open procedure. The losing bidders were invited to apply for two lots with a combined estimated value of approximately £4,925,000, covering the services needed over the respective contract durations of five years for Crawley and up to six years and ten months for Horsham, expandable under certain conditions.

This tender represents a significant business opportunity for companies offering tree maintenance and inspection services, particularly those equipped to manage the additional requirements linked to a major disease impacting Ash tree stocks in the area. Businesses in the forestry sector, including those specialising in ecological services, tree pruning, and maintenance management, would be particularly well-suited to this procurement. The projected high value of the contract, alongside the ongoing need for remedial work, underscores the potential for sustainable business growth through successful bidding.
