Summary of the contracting process

The Association of North East Councils (NEPO) is currently in the award stage of the procurement process for the "NEPO418 Library Books & Digital Content" framework agreement. This multi-supplier, multi-lot procurement focuses on providing library books and digital content to contracting authorities across the United Kingdom. The procurement was initiated with an open procedure aimed at establishing long-term partnerships with suppliers, with the relevant tender period having concluded on 17 January 2022. The framework includes various lots targeting categories such as adult fiction, children's fiction, and digital content.

This procurement presents substantial opportunities for businesses in the publishing, media, and digital content sectors. Companies capable of supplying a diverse range of library books and interactive digital materials are well-positioned to benefit from participating in this framework. Additionally, suppliers who emphasise quality, social value, and competitive pricing will have advantages, as these criteria are crucial for evaluation against awarded contracts. With a significant budget earmarked for this initiative, potential suppliers should explore getting involved to expand their market presence within the public sector.
