Notice Title

PROJ10205: Somalia Stability Fund III

Notice Description

This is a prior information notice (PIN) only: Publication and a call for competition will be conducted once the scope of work is fully defined and approved FCDO Somalia seeks to reduce current and future threats to UK interests, enable Somalis to lead safer, healthier and less vulnerable lives, and support prosperity and reduce risks to stability across East Africa by pursuing, with our partners, a Somalia (including Somaliland) that is increasingly secure, resilient and stable. A third phase of the Somalia Stability Fund (SSF) III will be a central element in achieving this ambition. With an initial fundraising target of PS120m (with the option of increasing this to PS200m), SSF III will run for six years (starting early 2022). The Fund will support more inclusive political agreements at multiple levels of government and address historic grievances that have undermined trust between elites and communities. SSF will also support the establishment of democratic processes at the sub-national level. It will build more representative and effective local governance structures and invest in efforts to strengthen the social contract between citizens and the state to ensure that new institutions are more accountable. SSF III's programmatic activity will be underpinned by in-depth, long term research.
