Summary of the contracting process

East Dunbartonshire Council is seeking contractors to provide Electrical Installation Condition Reports across the area, with a primary focus on rectifying C1 and C2 codes for 2500 to 2600 domestic properties. This procurement is currently in the award stage, having reached its deadline for bids on 18 October 2021. The tender includes multiple lots for different locations, namely Kirkintilloch & Lenzie, Milngavie & Bearsden, Bishopbriggs, and surrounding villages, with a total estimated value of £400,000. The procurement method used is an open procedure, allowing broad participation.

This tender presents a valuable opportunity for businesses in the electrical services sector, particularly those with experience in conducting electrical inspections and repairs. Companies that are NICEIC approved and possess the necessary qualifications, including staff accredited to the 18th edition wiring regulations, would be well-suited to compete. This project not only enhances compliance with safety regulations for local homes but also provides a steady stream of contracts for SMEs looking to grow in the public sector market.
