Lot 1
The University currently utilises Dell EMC data protection products for the backup and recovery of data. Located at the two main data centres in the Coleraine and Magee campuses are Avamar for Control Tier software and NDMP acceleration, and Data Domain as the target for Avamar backups. The University has also purchased 150 CPU licences of Data Protection Suite for VMware to provide licences for the data protection software and additional RecoverPoint capabilities. The Data Domain units, DD4200 (Coleraine) and DD2500 (Magee) are nearing end of warranty and the University is undertaking a project to refresh and replace these architectures with equivalent and enhanced capabilities. The new architectures will be used to replicate between sites for resiliency and data protection. The Avamar nodes, for metadata (M1200) and NDMP acceleration are not being refreshed as part of this project. Additional information: The estimated total value stated above in Section II.1.7 includes the initial 2 year contract period and the option to extend the contract for any periods up to and including 24 months.
Options: Initial term 2 years with provision to extend for any periods up to and including 24 months.
